Melissa Jacques O’Connor,
MA, MEd, BCBA
Psychometrist & Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Melissa Jacques O'Connor is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with 10 years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. At Northeastern, she quickly learned working with neurodivergent children was her passion, thanks to her internships at the May Institute and Newton Public Schools. Upon finishing undergraduate school, Melissa continued learning about the field of special education by obtaining master's degrees in Special Education from Bridgewater State University and in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from William James College. During her time in graduate school, she was a licensed Special Education Teacher for students with severe disabilities at a special purpose school in Massachusetts. Melissa has worked as a BCBA since 2020 in an ABA clinic and in public schools.
Melissa conducts functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and provides parent behavioral consultations at BLN. As a psychometrist, she also assists with test administration and scoring. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys being outdoors in Maine. She likes to hike, go running, and walk her Golden Retriever on the beach. She is an avid foodie and loves to explore the many restaurants in Portland with her husband.
